Fan artwork inspired by the earlier days of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, rendered in ink and markers.
Story behind the artwork
It was sometime early in 2024, I had just completed another piece, so I asked my son - What should I draw now? Turtles! He was playing the retro-like Shredder's Revenge on Switch at the time. I said, Okay cool, which one of them, your fav Leonardo? Or my fav Michelangelo? He answered - All of them! And I said okay cool, so Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello and Rafael then. He said No, also Yusagi Yojimbo, April O`neil, Casey Jones, and Splinter! So I got to work. A quick sketch and the piece was born. I worked on refining lines for a little to long, during that process I came up with the idea of adding also Bebop and Rocksteady, and all the foot soldiers in the back. I worked on and off on this piece until I finished it in 2025. Cannot say I love all the details, I had huge problems getting April right, that stopped me from working on the piece for many months. But I later added black ink around here to cover sloppy ink-work that made her look weird, and even if that doesn't look awesome it made me able to progress and finish the piece.
Planned Limited Edition
Register interestI am considering a signed and numbered edition of 25, but it is not available to order yet. A4 and A3 are the likely formats; larger sizes may be possible after the professional capture and proof are approved. Registering interest helps me decide which artwork to prepare and print next.
