Robo
About the artwork
A portrait of Robo from Chrono Trigger rendered in coffee and watercolor.
Story behind the artwork
Created in 2025 as a Chrono Trigger tribute, the piece pairs coffee pigments with watercolor to portray the game's robot. All the brown elements (Robo's body, the floor) you see in the piece are made entirely by coffee. I placed Robo against a wall in the future inside a ruined factory, looking all gloomy, heavily inspired by how the team find Robo in the game. This large A3 piece is my largest and most complex water color to date. It started as a tiny quick A5 sketched that I liked so much I had to do a proper piece.
